Rainn Wilson: Steve Carell Deserved an Emmy!

No Emmy for Michael Scott!

Rainn Wilson is quite upset that his Office costar, Steve Carell, didn’t win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series on Sunday night.

“The world of TV should be ashamed of itself that Steve Carell never won an Emmy for [the role] of Michael Gary Scott,” Wilson, 45, tweeted last Sunday, after Carell, 49, lost the award to The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons.

Before the Awards had been doled out, Wilson tweeted ominously: “The Office has about zero chance of winning this year because the cast has been relegated to rows U and V.”

The 2010-2011 season of The Office was Carell’s last as a series regular on the show. “I am excited [to be done],” he told reporters last year. “Just so I can spend more time with my family.” (He and wife Nancy have two kids: Elisabeth Anne, 10, and John, 7.)

“I’m sure I’m going to be very nostalgic,” he admitted. “I mean, these are some of my best friends in the world! But it will be good — it will be good for everybody.”

Did Steve Carell deserve the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series?
