Whatever is going on in her personal life, Kristen Stewart doesn’t appear to be hurting for work.
According to New York Magazine’s Vulture, the 22-year-old actress has landed the lead in an adaptation of William Styron’s “Lie Down in Darkness” – a coveted role that Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence once said she was dying to play.
Stewart would portray Peyton Loftis in the independent adaptation of Styron’s 1951 novel, which is set in ’50s-era Virginia. The story revolves around a dysfunctional family, with the beautiful Peyton, when not being compared to her crippled sister, being on the receiving end of her mother’s anger as well as her alcoholic father’s desire.
Jennifer Lawrence told W magazine in 2010 that she was “obsessed” with the role, saying that she was “beside [herself]” over the script, written by “Crazy Heart” writer/director Scott Cooper.
Cooper’s on board to direct “Lie Down in Darkness” as well, which Vulture reports has been in development for a while although it’s unclear how soon production would kick into gear.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that this project is in its early stages, and hasn’t secured financing yet (or a male lead, for that matter). THR cites a source with knowledge of the project who warns fans to not get their hopes up too high just yet.
“While it’s exciting to see all the interest this project is generating,” the source said, “the film is still in the pre-production process and no offers to cast have been made yet.”
Robert Pattinson has packed his bags.
Following Kristen Stewart‘s public apology for having a fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the 26-year-old actor has left the Los Angeles home he shared with Stewart, reports hsve confirmed.
“I’m not sure they’ll be able to recover from this,” a source says of the couple of three years, who met making the Twilight trilogy.
In seclusion and not in contact with Stewart, 22, the British star “is heartbroken and angry,” says the source.
A “devastated” Stewart, meanwhile, described Pattinson as “the person I love and respect the most” in her apology following revelations of her indiscretion with Sanders, 41, a married father of two.
“Kristen really loves Rob more than anything,” says an insider. “He’s all that matters to her right now.”
Eyebrows are raising throughout Hollywood as rumors allege that “Twilight” franchise star Kristen Stewart had a dalliance outside of her reported relationship with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson.
People magazine as well as Us Weekly are citing anonymous sources who claim that the 22-year-old had a recent fling with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders. Sanders is said to be married with two kids.
While source closes to the situation told People the two were not involved romantically, one reportedly said that “Kristen is absolutely devastated. … It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.”
This source went on to say that Stewart “wasn’t having an affair with Rupert. It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice.”
Pattinson and Stewart met on the set of 2008’s “Twilight” and have been linked since, although neither actor has been blatantly overt about any presumed relationship. Stewart herself has not responded to the allegations, and neither has a rep for Sanders.
If there was trouble in paradise, it certainly wasn’t evident on Sunday when Stewart, Pattinson and Taylor Lautner accepted the lifetime achievement award for the “Twilight” films at the Teen Choice Awards.
It’s time for another (faintly ridiculous) celebrity money list!
The list tallies box office receipts over the past five years, and the actors who played Ron and Hermione in the Potter franchise saw their four films in that period earn a staggering $4.2 billion.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are #2 with the Twilight Saga romance raking in $2.5 billion over the same period.
While they only made two Transformers films together, on-screen love interests Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox managed to land in third place with $1.5 billion.
What makes the roundup so… random… is that while romantic pairings like Stewart-Pattinson and Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth are at the heart of those films, we have a hard time believing that many people saw blockbusters like Iron Man or Inception solely because of the “love interests.”
The full list:
1. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – $4.2 billion
2. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson – $2.5 billion
3. Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf – $1.5 billion
4. Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey, Jr. – $1.2 billion
5. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Shia LaBeouf – $1.1 billion
6. Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp – $1 billion
7. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom – $963 million
8. Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire – $890 million
9. Marion Cotillard and Leonardo DiCaprio – $825 million
10. Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth – $703 million
Lily Collins was destined to play a fairytale princess, regardless of the role.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the Mirror, Mirror star reveals she originally auditioned for Kristen Stewart‘s part in Snow White and the Huntsman (costarring Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth).
“I did read the other Snow White script,” Collins, 22, admits. “I auditioned for it, but I’ve been so excited for Kristen. I think that story is so different than ours and the girls are so different. She’s perfect for her version.”
“I’m really excited to be doing this one,” she adds. “I think they have totally different audiences.”
Though 21-year-old Stewart’s spin on the classic fairytale will feature a handful of battle scenes, Collins promises Mirror, Mirror has its fair share of fights, too.
“This was insane training,” she says. “I’ve been fight training and fencing for about three months now. I was kickboxing, doing some stuff on wires. It’s been really intense.”
Collins adds that working it was a dream come true to share the screen with Julia Roberts, who plays the Evil Queen in Mirror, Mirror.
“She’s got that same ‘America’s Sweetheart’ smile and laugh, but it’s so evil,” she tells Access Hollywood of the Oscar winner. “She was so gracious on and off set. We had a great time.”
Mirror, Mirror hits theaters on March 16.
It’s finally happening! Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are here in downtown L.A.

“Twilight” trio Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are getting some recognition in Hollywood: The three will cast their hand and footprints in the cement outside La La Land’s famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
According to a release, the ceremony will happen the morning of November 3, which is just a few weeks before the debut of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.”
Twihards outside of Los Angeles can still participate in the action from afar; the ceremony will be broadcast live via streaming video on ChineseTheatres.com.
Immortalizing stars’ prints outside the famed theater is a rare honor, as only 250-plus celebs have been invited to partake in leaving prints since Grauman’s 1928 inception.
Of course, “Edward,” “Bella” and “Jacob” have earned the commemoration. The “Twilight Saga” franchise’s first three films have grossed over $1.8 billion at box offices worldwide to date.
The latest installment in the series hits theaters November 18.
“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” is almost as bad as “Magic Mike” with the teasing – the latest clip shows Kristen Stewart‘s Bella Swan with a baby bump and a pack of pretty ticked off wolves.
(For those of you who are “Twi”-fatigued, remember: it’ll all be over by 2013.)
To recap: Teasers thus far have shown us the wedding, the honeymoon, and the WTF face Bella wears when she realizes she’s pregnant. Updated: This trailer takes us a step further in the plotline by showing what she looks like when she’s pregnant, the wolfish drama that ensues, and even a glimpse at the intense delivery scene. (Although, if you’ve read the books, none of this is a surprise.) Onward to the clip!
And by the way: Tickets for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I” will go on advance sale on Fandango starting October 1, according to a statement. The movie, however, won’t open until November 18. Any wagers on how quickly this film’s first showing will sell out?
Hold on tight, spider monkeys!
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 might not hit theaters until November 18, but these sexy shots of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) should lessen the pain of the wait!
In one shot, a shirtless Pattinson, 25, and Stewart, 21, embrace one another passionately in the water.
In the other pic, the duo gaze lovingly at one another as they lie together in bed. While Stewart’s favorite part of Breaking Dawn was Edward and Bella’s wedding, her real-life beau’s was the bed-breaking sex scene!
“I wanted to have it as a line so much: ‘I bit through all the pillows. Every. Single. One.’ And then he’d start crying,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly. “By the way, that’s what he should be ashamed of in the morning. All those beautiful pillows! Egyptian cotton! I ruined this bed!”
