We haven’t heard much from Jennifer Lopez regarding her July split from husband Marc Anthony, but the singer did open up a bit while performing over the weekend.
Lopez took the stage at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Saturday night, and though she wowed the crowd as usual, she let her emotions go for a moment while on stage.
“I’m going to sing you the last song I wrote about love,” she told the crowd. “A lot has changed since then.”
Lopez then broke out into her song “Until It Beats No More” while J.Lo lookalike dancers performed an homage to her past relationships, complete with Diddy, Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony lookalikes.
“A little trip down memory lane,” she said after the song ended, tearing up on the stage as the crowd gave her a standing ovation.
But it wasn’t all tears at Lopez’s concert, which was in celebration of Mohegan Sun’s 15th anniversary. “Glee” star Lea Michele caught the show and tweeted her excitement Saturday night.
Who knew Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling used to be partners in crime?
In Time’s Timberlake, 30, recently stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he reminisced about his days on The Mickey Mouse Club with former costar Gosling, 30.
“We used to do terrible things. We thought we were so cool,” Timberlake recalled. “Looking back on them, they weren’t as bad as I thought they were at the time. We stole a golf cart. And we were like, ‘Yeah, man. We’re stealing a golf cart!'”
“We drove into MGM Studios, which is totally illegal by the way,” he added. “I was like, ‘What do you want to do thug? And Ryan was like, ‘I don’t know, cuz…because that’s definitely how we talked.”
All kidding aside, the future A-listers bonded after Timberlake’s mother, Lynn Harless, became Gosling’s legal guardian for six months. “His mother had to keep her job in Canada the second year that we were on the television show,” Timberlake explained. “We were probably a little closer that the rest of the kids that were on the show just because we had to share a bathroom.”
Though Timberlake said it’s been “hard to keep up with” Gosling since their MMC days, he thinks Gosling has become an “unbelievable” leading man. “I think one of the best actors of our generation.”
Timberlake’s apperance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs Thursday.
Now you can get an even juicier Wahlberg fix — at Wahlburgers! On Monday night in Hingham, Massachusetts, actor and producer Mark Wahlberg, 40, unveiled his new burger joint with older brothers Paul and Donnie, 42.
With Paul wearing the chef hat, the grand opening was a family affair as the brothers’ invited mom Alma Elaine to join them on the red carpet. The restaurant’s menu offers hamburgers with Paul’s secret sauce, white bean and prosciutto soup, and Italian cold cut sandwiches (among other items).
The Wahlberg brothers faced a small battle in landing their desired name for the restaurant; “Wahlbergers” was previously the name of a fast food chain in upstate New York, where the burgers sold for $4.49.
Now that The Fighter star and his brothers are manning the meats, the burgers are just a few dollars more. The Wahlburgers’ menu promises that dining in their restaurant will feel like a meal at the Wahlbergs’.
For $6.25, would you eat a 5 oz. burger with the “Wahl sauce and government cheese?”
Tara Reid‘s quickie wedding to Zack Kehayov made headlines over the summer, but now she’s raising questions as to whether she’s actually wed.
The “American Pie” actress, 35, tweeted about her surprise ceremony in August, writing that she and her hubby – can we still call him that? – had gotten engaged and then married within the span of a day while in Greece.
However, in a video on TMZ, Reid says she and Zack couldn’t even win “The Newlywed Game.”
“We would lose,” Reid says. “We were never really married…It was never legal.” no one has not yet heard back from Reid’s rep about her remarks.
Is Lindsay Lohan flashing those newly pearly whites, and possibly a little bit more, at the camera right this second?
The embattled starlet is taking part in a top-secret photo shoot today and tomorrow and E! News is hearing whispers that it’s for a spread in an upcoming issue of Playboy.
Hey, it worked for one of Lohan’s idols, Marilyn Monroe. But would she dare to go all-the-way bare?
Well, that would be something, wouldn’t it?
Lohan was spotted heading into a Beverly Hills mansion, purportedly the scene of the photo shoot, earlier today. And a source tells E! News that it was for a non-nude (sorry, folks!) layout for the January issue.
But at this point, her rep, Steve Honig, isn’t ready to admit that Lohan is playing ball for Playboy —but he’s not denying it either.
“I can neither confirm nor deny at this time,” Honig tells E! News. Lohan herself didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We don’t comment on rumors about who may or may not be posing for the magazine…if anything changes, I’ll be sure to let you know,” added a rep for Playboy.
Meanwhile, a source close to Lohan is under the impression that the L.A. County morgue’s most famous volunteer is collecting a pretty fat paycheck for her posing services.
Unconfirmed reports are flying that Muammar Gaddafi was killed or captured by fighters who stormed his hometown on Thursday morning. Plus, see the photo that purports to show his arrest.
The State Department and NATO are looking to confirm reports today from Libya that rebel forces have captured or killed former Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi.
“The State Department cannot at this time confirm media reports on the capture or killing of Muammar Gaddafi,” said State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland. A NATO official told the Associated Press that the alliance was still trying to confirm news reports.
On Thursday morning, Jamal abu-Shaalah, a member of Libya’s Transitional National Council told al-Jazeera that Gaddafi had been captured near his home town of Sirte.
Reuters reported that an NTC spokesman said Gaddafi died of his wounds. “He was also hit in the head,” the official said. “There was a lot of firing against his group and he died.”
Al Jazeera reported that Gaddafi’s former spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim, also had been captured in the gun battle.
Unconfirmed Reports of Gaddafi’s Capture
Reuters quoted a Libyan government official who said that Gaddafi was hiding in a hole and shouted “don’t shoot, don’t shoot” upon capture. Tripoli reportedly erupted in celebration upon the news, as people cheered “God is great, God is great, Gaddafi has been captured.” Other reports indicated that Gaddafi was waving a golden pistol when he was found.
Gaddafi’s Hometown Falls
All of Libya’s major cities belong to the new government after its troops seized Sirte Thursday morning. Troops loyal to Gaddafi had been holding out in his hometown for weeks, but government troops cleared them in a 90-minute push. “There are no Gaddafi forces any more,” said on government colonel. “We are now chasing his fighters who are trying to run away.” Gaddafi loyalists’ last refuge, now, is the town of Bani Walid, southeast of Tripoli.
The Kardashians seem to be everywhere, but don’t expect to spot them often on the White House TVs. First Lady Michelle Obama admits in an interview with iVillage that her husband isn’t too pleased when the couple’s daughters try to turn on E!’s first family.
As is the case with many parents, the First Lady and President Obama have TV viewing limits for daughters Sasha and Malia – no Web or channel surfing during the week, unless it’s related to homework. That rule is let up a little bit on the weekends, when they’re allowed to tune in to the tube.
While Mrs. Obama doesn’t specify if there are any shows strictly off-limits, she does say that “Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians – when they watch that stuff – he doesn’t like that as much.”
But, she continues, “I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in – what did you learn when you watched that. And if they’re learning the right lessons, like, that was crazy, then I’m like, OK.”
It doesn’t sound like the Obamas have anything to worry about – Mrs. Obama says that Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, are “terrific girls. They’re poised and they’re kind and they’re curious.”
Like with any mother, she knowingly jokes, “I am just hoping that I don’t mess them up.”
Hailed as one of the modern era’s most gifted pop troubadours, Jason Mraz has shared stages with percussionist Noel “Toca” Rivera for more than a decade. The two musicians first met back in 2000, when Mraz was just making his mark on the San Diego coffee house scene. Enthralled by the young songwriter’s free-flowing lyrical mastery, Rivera invited Mraz to join the eponymous trio he fronted alongside his brother Carlos. The group hit the road, travelling California’s highways and byways together in a beat-up Winnebago, inspiring Mraz’s classic song, “Dream Life of Rand McNally.” When Carlos decided to take time off, Jason and Toca continued to collaborate as a duo, earning acclaim and passionate audience responses wherever they performed. Mraz’s guitar and vocals match beautifully with Rivera’s intuitive djembe playing and the two maintain a long friendship and collaborative relationship, recording and touring together to this day.
Call it a philanthropic promotion, where a “like” equals a meal.
Rapper 50 Cent, a.k.a Curtis Jackson, has promised to provide a meal to a child in need every time his new Street King energy shots receive a “like” on Facebook through Sunday.
He’s teaming up with the United Nations World Food Programme, and if he gets a million likes by Sunday, he’ll donate an additional one million meals.
He adds in a statement, “People who want to help fight hunger are not being asked to donate or pay anything to help. It’s real simple. All they have to do is ‘like’ the Street King page on Facebook and I will give a meal to a hungry kid.”
But the rapper’s philanthropy doesn’t end this week: The UN World Food Programme confirms that 50 Cent will provide a meal for every Street King energy shot sold in the next five years. The goal? One billion meals.
Emma Watson is heading back to college, but not just any college: Us Weekly reports the British actress is starting classes at the prestigious Oxford University for her third year of school.
“You might not hear from me for a while because I will be really busy studying, but I wanted to just say hi and goodbye,” Watson, 21, posted on her blog.
The actress, famous for her long-running role as Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” films, has been attending Brown University, but is going back to her native England for her third year “abroad.”
“Then I’ll return to Brown to complete my last year,” Watson explained this summer.
“Hope you all like ‘My Week with Marilyn,’” she continued in her blog entry, referring to her next big screen appearance in the upcoming Marilyn Monroe biopic. “I’ll keep you posted on [‘The Perks of Being a Wallfower’]!”
Emma also sent a message for her fellow students: “have a great term and good luck with all your work.”
The adorable actress also posted a photo with the message. Clad in casual college attire, she’s depicted toting books and giving a thumbs up.
