Dutch fashion magazine Jackie is facing outcry after publishing an article in which it refers to pop star Rihanna as the ultimate “n****b****.”
As posted on Parlourmagazine.com, the magazine’s piece focuses on Rihanna’s style, but uses the aforementioned language to describe the singer.
The responses poured in swiftly enough that according to Parlour magazine, the editor of Jackie, Eva Hoeke, issued a statement of apology on the publication’s Facebook page, saying that “the author meant no harm” and that the headline using the words was meant to be “a joke.”
However, Hoeke continues to say that “this should have never happened.” She goes on to say that there wasn’t a racist motive behind the words, and that they were “stupid” rather than malicious.
“[It was] naive…to think that this was an acceptable form of slang – you hear it all the time on TV and radio then your idea of what is normal apparently shifts – but it was especially misguided; there was no malice behind it,” Hoeke said.
Rihanna, meanwhile, has had her own words of response for the piece. The 23-year-old wrote on Twitter to the magazine’s editor:
“I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000’s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past! You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense…”N**** B****”?!….Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…F*** YOU!!!“
The 23-year-old Barbadian beauty poses for the November issue in nothing but patches of seaweed.
Of course, it’s rare an interview where her ex, Chris Brown, doesn’t come up. Despite their violent history, Rihanna says she’s put the past behind her and even calls herself a fan.
“It’s incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did,” she says of Brown’s still-hot career. “Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?”
The pop star says she even enjoys Chris’ work: “I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan.” She goes on to insist that she would “never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”
The sultry singer is currently on a world tour promoting her fifth studio album, “Loud,” and will release a new album, “Talk That Talk,” in November.
Rihanna takes the Sexiest Woman crown from last year’s winner, Minka Kelly. Kate Beckinsale and Halle Berry have also held the title.

Her style is as “Loud” as her concert! Rihanna looked super sexy as she performed at the UK’s Liverpool Arena in a hot tropical print bikini-cut stage costume.
Revealing stlyes are nothing new to the Barbadian beauty, who must subscribe to the “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” rule of life. We have to agree — it definitely works for her!
Offstage, the singer has been heating things up with a rumored new beau.
While nothing is confirmed, the 23-year-old “S & M” singer was seen leaving Mahiki nightclub in London on Thursday evening with boxer/model Dudley O’Shaughnessy.
Apparently, Rihanna hand picked Dudley to star in her music video for “We Found Love,” and the two have been getting close ever since.
