Miley Cyrus took to Twitter on Monday to thank Kelly Osbourne for clearing the air after a leaked video from her 19th birthday bash showed the singer jokingly calling herself a “stoner”, and saying she smokes “too much f***in’ weed.”
When blogs started to report that Cyrus openly admitted to being a “pothead,” Osbourne rushed to defend her friend by tweeting, “let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE!… it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called ‘friends’ would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!”
While it’s not clear who leaked the video, some angry fans are apparently targeting Cyrus’ friends on Twitter.
Cyrus tried to put a stop to the hate today, tweeting, “Please stop bombarding my friends twitter pages with rude comments. NOTHING gives you the right to threaten people.”
She added, “I love u @MissKellyO :)”
Last year, Osbourne also stuck up for Cyrus when a tabloid ran a story that alleged she was a “bad influence” on the “Fashion Police” host.
Kelly Osbourne threw the ultimate birthday bash for her celeb BFF Miley Cyrus on Tuesday.
A source tells reporters that Osbourne rented out Beacher’s Madhouse inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to help the 19-year-old celebrate her special day.
“Her mom Tish went, and so did her boyfriend Liam [Hemsworth],” the source says of Cyrus. “The group was up until 3 a.m. just dancing up a storm and having fun.”
Cyrus seemed quite impressed with Osbourne’s planning skills, calling it “the best party ever” on Twitter. “Let’s just say there was a unicorn in the lobby!” (An onlooker tells E! News there was a horse with a horn attached to its head inside the soiree.)
Prior to Tuesday’s birthday blowout, Osbourne teased that it was “going to be the sickout thing [Miley has] ever seen in her life.”
“That was my mission for her, to make her birthday…the best day ever.”
Osbourne and Cyrus first became friends while shooting the comedy So Undercover. The film has yet to be released.
An alleged topless photo of Selena Gomez is circulating online, but it’s a fake and the actress might take legal action.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star is just the latest Disney personality to be the victim of a naked pic hoax.
Last month, a “leaked” Miley Cyrus nude shot proved to be fake.
“Selena’s family is pursuing all available remedies to deal with the offender,” a rep for Gomez tells reporters.
