Nicole Kidman is saying sayonara, officially, to her amazing West Village, NYC pad.
The actress — who primarily resides in Nashville with husband Keith Urban and daughters Sunday, 4, and Faith, 19 months — has owned the massive 3,785-square-foot residence on Perry Street, boasting incredible Hudson River views, for nine years. Frustrated by a nearby construction project that interfered with the panorama, the Oscar-winner attempted to rent out the place for $45,000 a month, according to a source.
At some point, however, Kidman decided to part with the home for good, and it sold to an LLC on July 10 for a whopping $16 million.
The amazing views and hip neighborhood weren’t the property’s only selling points. The apartment also features a 30-foot-wide entrance gallery, a terrace, a chef’s kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, and a master suite with walk-in closets and a soaking tub.
Kidman and country singer Urban still maintain an NYC residence at nearby 200 Eleventh Avenue (which they purchased for $10 million in early 2011), as well as a home in Sydney, Australia — but the Aussie-born stars’ hearts seem to belong to Nashville these days.
Are Lolo Jones and Rashida Jones on the fast track to BFF-dom?
Their lookalike status isn’t lost on either the Olympic hurdler, 30, or the Parks and Recreation star, 36. On Monday, Lolo reached out to her A-list doppelganger on Twitter.
“Thanks @iamrashidajones for running the first race for me so I could rest up . . . They didn’t even notice,” Lolo tweeted. “I’ll take it from here.”
Rashida’s reply? “You’re welcome! I’m super sore though. Maybe you can return the favor and go to this family thing in my place this weekend?” (The Celeste and Jesse Forever actress is the daughter of legendary music producer Quincy Jones and Mod Squad star Peggy Lipton.)
Earlier this year, Lolo sat down with E! News and joked about her plans for a future biopic.
“Oh, I already have this all worked out. The older version of me would be played by Vanessa Williams, and the current Lolo would be played by Rashida Jones,” Lolo explained. “And the younger Lolo would be played by Halle Berry‘s daughter!”
Well, there’s one name off the list of potential Oscar hosts.
Saturday Night Live alum and late-night host Jimmy Fallon told Matt Lauer this morning on Today that he’d been approached about hosting the Academy Awards, but it’s not going to work out.
“No, I’m not going to do the Oscars,” he told Lauer a little glumly. “It’s an honor to be asked by the academy, but it’s not my year.”
This, despite the fact that his former SNL boss Lorne Michaels, who also produces Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, is producing the 85th Academy Awards show next year.
It’s not clear if Fallon turned the offer down or if the Academy decided to go in a different direction. Either way, Lauer seemed bummed about the news. “That wasn’t quite the note I was hoping to end on,” he admitted.
Stanley Tucci has indeed found wedded bliss with Felicity Blunt, a rep for the “Hunger Games” actor tells reporters.
Tucci first let the news slip while attending a screening of Meryl Streep’s new movie, “Hope Springs.” The New York Daily News inquired about the couple’s relationship, and, after a bit of hesitation, Tucci told the paper that yes, he was back off the market.
Blunt, who People magazine reports is a London-based literary agent, is also the sister of Tucci and Streep’s “Devil Wears Prada” co-star, Emily Blunt.
Tucci and Blunt’s engagement was the talk of Tinseltown last November, and the latest rumor on the pair is that they plan to have a larger, second wedding ceremony to celebrate their union.
Tucci, 51, has three children from his marriage to wife Kate, who died from breast cancer in 2009.
Target is typically the place to stock one’s closet with bargain finds, but the retailer is moving into a more high-end category, and all because of “The Hunger Games.”
In alignment with the film’s release on DVD and Blu-ray August 18, Target’s going to sell “Hunger Games”-themed “keepsakes” in very limited quantities on Target.com, including 100 14-carat gold replicas of Katniss Everdeen‘s Mockingjay pin.
Katniss herself, however, would probably experience sticker shock over the price: Target’s retailing the replica pins for $999.
It’s the first time the outlet has offered licensed products in that range, a statement says, and the other two keepsake items are pricier than what you might usually expect from the store chain.
In addition to the pins, Target’s also planning to offer 100 replicas of Katniss’s leather jacket (seen in the photo from the film above) for $349; and 100 lithographs bearing the signatures of 10 of the blockbuster film’s stars – including the actress who portrayed Katniss, Jennifer Lawrence.
Target’s Vice President of Entertainment, John Butcher, said in a statement that while Target is indeed known “for providing must-have merchandise at an unbeatable value … we wanted to surprise our guests by taking it up a notch for ‘The Hunger Games’ and unveiling a prestige collection for devoted fans.”
Singer Pink has landed a glamorous new job.
The “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” diva is one of the new faces of CoverGirl cosmetics, the brand has announced, and the timing couldn’t be better for Pink.
“I have a lot to celebrate,” the mom of one said in a statement. “I called my new album ‘The Truth About Love,’ and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music, and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”
Pink joins famous names such as Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Tyra Banks, and Molly Sims – not to mention contemporaries like Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore and Sofia Vergara, – and being among “a group of women who have always inspired me – to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look – is such an honor.”
The Vice President and General Manager of CoverGirl Cosmetics, Esi Eggleston Bracey, said in the statement that it’s Pink’s attitude that drew them in.
“Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are,” Bracey said. “That combination of irreverence and integrity is exactly what the COVERGIRL brand loves about her and identifies with. We have admired P!nk’s art and her attitude for years! We love the energy and confidence that she radiates, and the fact that inside and out she’s as cool as she looks. She’s an awesome addition to our COVERGIRL family.”
Pink’s CoverGirl campaign will kick off this fall, around the same time she’s releasing her upcoming album. “The Truth About Love” will arrive September 18.
The “Dark Knight Rises” actress was the recipient of some personal approval from the President at the event, which was held in Connecticut at Harvey Weinstein‘s home.
Obama told those gathered that Hathaway “is spectacular,” and offered his critique of her latest film.
“I did get a chance to see Batman. And she was the best thing in it. That’s just my personal opinion.”
We’re not sure if moviegoers are flocking to see “The Dark Knight Rises” just for Anne Hathaway’s portrayal of Selina Kyle, but we do know the film is flourishing at the box office.
Reports indicated this week that Christopher Nolan‘s final Batman installment is the No. 2 film of the year with a worldwide gross of $732 million.
Jennifer Garner made a welcome return to the red carpet August 6 at the Hollywood premiere of her new film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
Wearing a brick-red Lanvin dress, the 40-year-old actress accessorized her outfit with Neil Lane jewels. Garner shot the Walt Disney Pictures film prior to giving birth to her son, Samuel, in February 2012. (She and husband Ben Affleck, 39, are also parents to daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3.)

Canadian progressive house producer Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman) has been keeping busy this summer — whether it be blasting Madonna and Playboy model Tricia Evans or performing around the world — and now he’s planning to take a little break.
“I’m going to unplug for a wee bit,” he wrote on his Tumblr, before adding that no upcoming shows will get canceled and that he’ll still write and release music.
“I got a lot of work to do on some stuff,” he wrote. “So, best I just chill the f–k out a bit and just get it done, and get it done RIGHT, until I’m 100% satisfied with it. Then our regularily scheduled program shall continue. But yeah, I’m basicly [sic] pretty miserable right now and need to pull the f–k back and figure out whatever the f–k it is I do.”
Deadmau5 — a prolific Twitter user with over 1.3 million followers — has commented previously about his battles with “severe depression and anxiety”, though whether this break is connected with that is unclear.
“Taking a long time off after my birthday to hopefully get it sorted out before I say or do anything more stupid than I already have,” he wrote on Facebook earlier this year. (The transcription via Spinner, since the Facebook post has been removed.)
Deadmau5 was recently in the news for calling out Evans after she made a joke about the Aurora, Colo. shootings last month that left 12 dead. His next show is in Spain, and he’ll be back in the U.S. in September with multiple shows lined up in Las Vegas.

We hope Madonna has a thick skin, because fellow music legend Elton John has fired off some awfully barbed remarks.
While chatting with an Australian media outlet, the topic of Madge – who’s been having tough times on tour – came up during conversation. According to Sir Elton, Madonna may as well hang it up and head home because her “career is over.”
“She’s such a nightmare,” John told Australia’s “Sunday Night.” “Her career’s over … and she looks like a f*****g fairground stripper.”
It seems John’s taken issue with the fact that Madonna’s been, in his estimation, “so horrible to [Lady] Gaga,” his friend and the godmother of his son, Zachary.
John reportedly also had a bit of advice for the superstar, adding in the interview, “If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like ‘Ray of Light’ and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.”
