Adele Plans To Go Country For Next Album

For her third album, Brit hitmaker Adele plans to employ a country/bluegrass sound.

Although the singer may have had to reschedule most of her U.S. summer tour due to laryngitis, she kept busy absorbing American music styles, and wants to use what she’s learned on her forthcoming album.

“I was exposed to a lot of country, rockabilly and bluegrass,” she tells The Sun of her time in the States.

“The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I’m going to be pursuing heavily from now on.” To pull it off, the singer wants to “spend some time in Austin in Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it,” she said.

Adele, 23, says that discovering American country musicians is “like [being] a four-year-old in a candy shop who’s discovering sweets again.”

The singer will have a huge audience for her country creation; her smash-hit sophomore album, “21,” has sold over 2.8 million copies, and is the top-selling album in the world so far this year.
