Journeys ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ Makes History

American rockers Journey have gone down in history – their hit “Dont Stop Believin” has been named the number one single of the 20th century.

The groups catchy tune has seen a boost in popularity in recent years after the stars of “Glee” performed the 1980s track on its first season in 2009.

The bandmembers performed live on the streets of New York last Friday as part of U.S. morning show Todays summer concert series and they were presented with a special plaque to commemorate the feat, which was certified by analysts at media research company Nielsen SoundScan.

Journey‘s current band members are:

Arnel Pineda – lead vocals (2007–present)
Neal Schon – lead guitar, vocals (1973–present)
Ross Valory – bass, vocals (1973–1985, 1995–present)
Jonathan Cain – keyboards, rhythm guitar, vocals (1980–present)
Deen Castronovo – drums, percussion, vocals (1998–present)
